Our 55,000-square-foot facility, on a three-acre site, includes our sheet metal and pipe fabrication facilities, service department, corporate offices, and one of Southern California’s most complete plumbing retail stores.

David Clarkin

President

David has over 30 years of mechanical experience and after receiving his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University, he started his career as a mechanical engineer designing HVAC and plumbing systems for a consulting firm.    Since joining A.O. Reed in 2003,  David spent 10 years as Vice President, was  promoted to Executive Vice President and finally, on January 1st, 2015 to President. His responsibilities included oversight of pre-construction and construction operations and is responsible for all departments at A.O. Reed.

His construction, design experience and oversight include project management, estimating, value engineering, managing pre-construction for large commercial projects made him a key player on numerous high profile technical projects, including Camp Pendleton Hospital, Scripps Cardiovascular Hospital, Sharp Hospital, Salk Institute, Disney Cars Land, Pacific Beacon High Rise, SAFC CGMP, and more.

David’s experience, understanding of the design process, construction, LEED certification, Lean Construction, and versatility has contributed to the continued success and growth of A.O. Reed.

He holds California State Contractors License A, B, C4, C20, C36, C43, C60 and HAZ, and is an active member of ASHRAE and ISPE.
