Cars Land

Anaheim, CA

About:

The largest Design Assist project in Disney history. We were selected to construct this new attraction on approximately 12 acres at California Adventure. Cars Land is based on the Disney/Pixar film “Cars”.

We participated in weekly design meetings with Disney’s Imagineering Group and provided value savings, cost control and BIM modeling during the 1-1/2 years of preconstruction.

Two “C” ticket rides, two food venues, three retail venues, two shell-space venues, the retheming of an existing building exterior and extensive preparatory and finish site work make up a portion of this project. An “E” ticket ride known as Radiator Springs Racers will wind around large artificial themed rockwork. Portions of the rockwork and sitework will contain integral water features, audio effects and lighting. Luigi’s Ride contains a unique and sophisticated mechanical system that will provide enough air to have floating tires hover above the ground.

Our construction scope included the site utilities, HVAC and plumbing systems. We also provided a complete hydraulic system to serve the animation characters.

A.O. Reed is proud to be a part of this innovative and unique project.
