About:

Remodel of existing building for Class 100 clean rooms, manufacturing areas, offices and mechanical rooms.  Cymer produces Eximer lasers which are used in the semi-conductor industry.  Installed 4 rooftop AHs totaling 90,000 cfm with the largest being 27,000 cfm, 13 FCs, 28 EFs, 3 SFs and 130,000 lbs. of ductwork.  Work on this fast-track project was performed as building operations continued.

2 story biomedical research building, 82,500 SF with basement parking.  Plumbing included laboratory waste system plus medical gases.  Piping included full central plant including (2) 150 ton chillers, cooling tower, boilers, pumps, etc.  HVAC included 6 central station custom air handling units (141,800 CFM total), standard ductwork along with stainless steel hood exhaust ductwork.  A.O. Reed designed on a value engineering basis, the main lab hood exhaust systems using vertical centrifugal in-line fans mounted on specially built structural stands.

Constructed 136,000 sq. ft. Outpatient clinic & administrative addition in 6 phases; concrete UG 180,000 gal 1,550 ton hour thermal storage tank with diaphragm (peak demand to be 131 tons) using 250 ton centrifugal chiller and later using a cogen waste heat absorption chiller, HVAC & plumbing.  400 Kw 86% natural gas / 14% diesel engine cogeneration system / 100% gas emergency generator with jacket water going to a 1,000 gallon heat exchanger tank for laundry water heating.

The project also includes the mechanical room in the central plant and 25 AHUs on the various roofs.  Also lab compressor and vacuum systems.  Fast-track schedule.  The major equipment was value engineered for cost and budget control.

Satellite and equipment fabrication facility. We constructed 4,000 ton concrete cooling tower, flat plate heat exchangers between the cooling tower cells and the condenser water circulating system, variable speed cooling tower fans, variable speed pumping, 2,000 feet underground condenser water piping, connected thirteen building chillers to the condenser water system (some at ground level and  others as high as 7-stories above ground), installed a double ended medium voltage substation, and installed DDC controls to tower and buildings.  This was a high profile project.
