A.O. Reed installed all base plumbing and HVAC systems and worked on individual tenant suites. We used a unique direction expansion air conditioning system which does not use water. Instead, the system pumps liquid R-22 refrigerant directly into two 14′x12′ expansion coils of the supply air plenum. Four 125-ton refrigeration compressors produce the cooling medium and twin 150-horsepower fans cool the air and move it through a central duct shaft to all 6 floors of the building.

The owner requested temperature control that would create a comfortable atmosphere for customers, but was also energy-and cost-efficient. Our recommended solution included air conditioning units with four stages of cooling. We also provided space heating by using heat rejection. We captured waste heat from lights and people and in turn, used it to warm the air without requiring any conventional heating equipment. In addition, we installed complete ventilation and plumbing systems which were also designed to deliver maximum cost-and energy-efficiency.
