A.O. Reed & Co. is looking for a number of candidates to fill our Subcontractor Compliance and Accounting Specialist job position. A.O. Reed & Co. is a mechanical contractor based in San Diego, California. We have been in business since 1914 and participate in commercial construction within San Diego County. We build and service anything from high-rise buildings to laboratories. A.O. Reed is looking for a candidate that not only assists our operations but becomes a new addition to the A.O. Reed community. All candidates must have previous construction accounting experience. A.O. Qualifications
High school diploma and/or general education degree (GED).
2+ years of working experience in accounting within the construction industry is required.
These roles range between AP, project accounting, and certified payroll.
Experience in Microsoft Office applications, with strong excel skills.
Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum or similar large scale construction accounting software.
Must have excellent attention to detail and a strong desire for accurate written and verbal communication.
Team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Works alongside and supports co-workers with enthusiasm.
Flexibility and willingness to learn the office operations at A.O. Reed.
Responsibilities
Process subcontractor project work orders, change orders, and invoices.
Obtain subcontractor insurance certificates and verify the certificates meet company requirements.
Maintain subcontractor insurance database.
Obtain and track subcontractor-certified payroll, ensure compliance, and submit to client labor compliance entity.
Process subcontractor monthly pay applications.
Track preliminary notices and obtain applicable releases.

Paid $55,000 – $65,000 annually.
