Diversity in the Workforce

A.O. Reed & Co. routinely solicits and utilizes the services of minority, women, small, and disabled veteran business enterprises. We are currently assisting a certified DVBE and SBE-owned plumbing contractor. A.O. Reed has completed over 22 projects with this company as a subcontractor at A.O. Reed. The owner of this company is a former A.O. Reed employee which we have been mentoring for over 10 years.

A.O. Reed actively subcontracts to minority, women, small, or disabled veteran business enterprises. We subcontract approximately 1% to 4% of our annual volume to the MWSDVBE firms.

Additionally, we actively solicit quotes and purchases from certified MWSDVBE material or equipment vendors. These efforts, including our mentoring program, can produce up to 35% MWSDVBE participation on specific projects.

On multiple occasions, A.O. Reed has held formal outreach events to hire minority, women, small, and disabled veteran-owned business enterprises.

We track our diversity progress monthly. As a company, we are proud that A.O. Reed has never failed to meet a project workforce diversity goal.
