SMACNA Safety Excellence Award 2023
Every year, SMACNA analyzes and awards companies that fit outstanding performance in occupational safety and health through the SMACNA Safety Excellence Award Program. Each winner is determined by manhour category and OSHA incidence ratings.
A.O. Reed was in the largest category, with over 500,000 hours, and was in 2nd place. At A.O. Reed, safety is our top priority. We have built a safety program focused on preventing accidents through proper planning and education. A.O. Reed has a dedicated safety panel that monitors our safety to ensure it is current and effective for our employees.
Our superintendents have been on safety committees for decades. From there, they bring, discuss, and implement the latest safety techniques with our employees. Proactively, we monitor all employees to ensure they produce safe and high-quality work. If injuries occur, we report every bump, scrap, bruise, and scratch to see how to improve. If there is a challenge on the jobsite, we face this head-on and provide solutions. Our company’s highest priority is to have all our employees return safely to their families.
