BOMA San Diego Luncheon 2023

The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) hosted a luncheon celebrating women in service, construction, and commercial real estate. This theme fits seamlessly with the Women in Construction Week agenda. The event hosted speakers Amber Molina from CommonWealth Partners, Barbara Putis from Kidder Mathews, Melanie Bamba Milinkevich at RSI Roofing, and Stacy Kurko at Jay Paul Company. Two of these speakers are customers at A.O. Reed.

A.O. Reed is a Platinum Level Annual Supporting Partner. We were featured as a Platinum Partner in the meeting and gave a five-minute presentation on how A.O. Reed provides an environment that boosts women in the workforce. As a mechanical contracting company, this couldn’t be a more appropriate time.

There has been a rise of women in the construction industry since 2016. Women comprise 14% of the workforce and are steadily growing. The construction industry needs employees, and women are available to work. A.O. Reed has and is recruiting more women on our payroll. We presented a five-minute video showcasing our female workers’ stories at the event. Our message was to showcase that each person has a story behind their uniform. As a company, we take it upon ourselves to foster and develop our employees to be the best versions of themselves on and off the jobsite.

This luncheon is an environment where we build relationships with current and potential customers. Representatives at the event include Michele Ignacio, Jaimi Lomas, Dennis Dubert, and Fernando Aguilar utilized their networking skills. A.O. Reed has had a presence at events like these for over 12 years in BOMA.
