Legence Pipe Fabrication

A.O. Reed had the opportunity to support one of our sister companies at Legence on several large data center projects with quick schedules. We stepped in to take on a portion of the fabrication work. This collaboration helped maintain critical project timelines while keeping our skilled team members actively engaged.

Our scope included receiving materials and sourcing additional materials as needed. We also fabricated carbon steel pipe spools based on the spool sheets. Once completed, the prefabricated piping was shipped to the jobsite out of state. Throughout the project, our team fabricated more than 3,000 feet of carbon steel, all ranging in size, and completed over 1,500 welds. The work involved both MIG and stick welding and was performed by our union pipe fitters and certified welders, whose craftsmanship ensured high quality results.

This project was the first time A.O. Reed collaborated with another Legence company, making it a particularly unique experience. Working alongside a company that performs the same type of work we do brought a unique perspective to the partnership. An interesting part of the project for those involved was the opportunity to work closely with peers in similar roles at another company, sharing insights, coordinating efforts, and contributing together toward a common goal.

Clear and consistent communication played an important role in the project’s success. The sister company’s team was readily available by phone and email to answer questions and coordinate any details. This helped keep production on track and ensured smooth execution from start to finish.

This project highlighted A.O. Reed’s fabrication capabilities, the strength of our workforce, and the value of collaboration within the Legence community. We are proud of the work completed and grateful for the partnership that made it possible. This project was completed in March 2024.
