HVAC Service Technician

SUMMARY

Our Service Technicians are responsible for preventive maintenance. This includes diagnosing problems and repairs on HVAC equipment. This position requires excellent customer service skills and a strong desire of continuous education and learning.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a high level of understanding of equipment and operations through company sponsored continuing education.  

  • Troubleshoot and correctly diagnose electrical, controls, refrigeration, and mechanical failures.

  • Make all repairs and PM’s reliable and professional.

  • Full E.P.A. certification required.

  • Coordinate and organize all work with a timely resolution in mind.

  • Maintain sound documentation of all work performed on your jobs.

  • Communicate with both internal and external customers.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). We require three (3) years minimum of HVAC service experience. Trade school or other education is a plus.  Must have clean driver’s license.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, and emails.  Ability to effectively disseminate information to customers and coworkers.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, divide, multiply, and apply concepts of basic algebra.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Service Technicians must be able to climb ladders, work while standing, sitting, or walking. Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulation. Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching. Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to fifty lbs.  Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and employees.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is quick and fast-paced. Environment will vary depending on the type of equipment and location.
