The A.O. Reed Sheet Metal Shop

The A.O. Reed Sheet Metal Shop is a 15,000 square-foot facility dedicated to fabricating all our ductwork as well as all ancillary items for projects. This includes duct supports, hangers, and specialty fabrication. We purchase over 3 million pounds of galvanized material and roughly 100,000 pounds of stainless steel every year. We use a network of over one hundred vendors to purchase and procure materials needed to ensure that the jobsites receive their materials in a timely manner.

Once a job is designed and approved, our team of detailers work out all design issues using state-of-the-art CAD and Revit models. This allow us to make changes and interact with other trades using the same model. Once the detailing is finalized, the model is tailored to our shop fabrication standards, while also factoring in the unique field install requirements. This minimizes scrap and ensures that the field install goes smoothly with minimal delays. We then fabricate all necessary items in-house using top of the line machinery from around the world. Once fabrication is complete, we load it onto one of two semi-trucks for on-time delivery to the jobsite.

A.O. Reed is the only mechanical contractor in San Diego that fabricates our ductwork.
