Legacy International Center

This 191,728 square-foot project constructed three buildings with a mixed-use in mind. The Legacy International Center was a design assist project. A.O. Reed was awarded the HVAC and plumbing scopes on the project. The project was completed on June 24, 2020.

The Legacy International Center is a museum, theatre, retail space, and resort with a techno-Christian flair that is unique in the industry. The project was entirely funded by televangelist Morris Cerullo and his followers with one goal in mind, to spread Christian teachings in an entertaining format. Since then, this project has recruited workers from Disney to build state-of-the-art exhibits, production studios, libraries, lecture facilities, and movie theatres with 4-D experiences. One of the buildings is a five story, 127-room hotel. This hotel includes a restaurant, fitness center, and spa. On the project, there is also an 8,000 square-foot shopping facility with over 30 different vendors from around the world selling their merchandise.

A.O. Reed provided and installed a new central plant to support the site. A.O. Reed was responsible for installing all underground piping. We cut cost by using local HHW and domestic hot boilers. A.O. Reed installed DX units in the electrical and IDF rooms as a precautionary measure to protect newly installed systems.

On the plumbing side, the hotel has standard hot and cold domestic water systems and storm water for the rain. A.O. Reed installed a sovent system for the waste and vent. This unique, engineered system had to be applied and approved by the city of San Diego. In the garage, A.O. Reed installed a sand/oil interceptor system to separate oil from the water when the cars park in the structure. Lastly, in the 500-seat theatre, we installed emergency sump pump systems.

The Legacy International Center had multiple projects within one. This project showed that A.O. Reed moved with ease and provided cost-efficient ideas to help improve the owner’s vision. The Legacy International Center isn’t just a museum, but a shopping center, video production facility, movie theatre, hotel, spa, restaurant, and so much more.
