El Centro Regional Medical Center Ancillary Building
Located in Imperial Valley, the El Centro Regional Medical Center is adding a new ancillary service building on campus. El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC) is an acute-care medical center that serves the healthcare needs of over 160 patients in the surrounding area. The ECRMC owns and operates the Oncology & Hematology of Imperial Valley, Wound Healing Center, and outpatient clinics in El Centro and Calexico. Aiming to improve the quality of care and comfort to the community, the hospital underwent a renovation to the central plant and built a 29,132 square-foot ancillary building to improve the campus needs.
The two-story ancillary service building provides an upgraded inpatient pharmacy, kitchen/cafeteria, sterile processing department, morgue, dietary services, medical records office, administration offices, and receiving docks. A.O. Reed installed HHW boilers, medical gas, and vacuum to support the existing hospital. We also renovated the 5,652-square-foot central plant on campus simultaneously. A.O. Reed followed the OSHPD requirements for the project.
We installed the following mechanical equipment: air handlers, fan coil units, exhaust fans, sound attenuators, steam boilers, condensate coolers, CAV units, and HHW boilers. This also includes HHW pumps with VFDs, air separators, and expansion tanks.
A.O. Reed installed the following plumbing equipment: domestic water that serves the new kitchen, general service domestic water heaters, circulation pumps, medical gas, and vacuum systems. This also includes compressed air systems, reverse osmosis water systems, soft water systems, sewage ejectors, grease interceptors, emergency eyewash stations, and plumbing fixtures.
Our team turned over the building on May 31st, 2024. We are proud to complete a project that will improve many people's lives in the Imperial Valley community. The El Centro Regional Medical Center aims to provide quality healthcare to its patients, and we are proud to produce the plumbing and mechanical systems for this project.
