David Clarkin

President

 

David brings over 30 years of experience in the mechanical contracting industry. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University and began his career as a Mechanical Engineer, designing HVAC and plumbing systems for a consulting firm.

He joined A.O. Reed in 2003 and spent a decade as Vice President before being promoted to Executive Vice President. On January 1, 2015, David assumed the role of President. In this position, he oversees all aspects of pre-construction and construction operations, along with the management of every department within the company.

David’s combined expertise in construction and design makes him an integral part of every project. He actively participates in project management, estimating, and value engineering. His leadership in pre-construction for large-scale commercial projects has made him a key contributor to numerous high-profile and technically demanding jobs, including Camp Pendleton Hospital, Scripps Prebys Cardiovascular Institute, Sharp Hospital, the Salk Institute, Disney’s Cars Land, Pacific Beacon High-Rise, and SAFC CGMP, among others.

His in-depth knowledge of the design process, construction practices, LEED certification, and Lean Construction principles has played a critical role in A.O. Reed’s ongoing growth and success.

David holds California State Contractor Licenses A, B, C4, C20, C36, C43, C60, and HAZ.
