David Clarkin

President

David has over 30 years of experience in the mechanical contracting industry. After receiving his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University, he started his career as a Mechanical Engineer designing HVAC and plumbing systems for a consulting firm. Since joining A.O. Reed in 2003, David spent 10 years as Vice President and eventually was promoted to Executive Vice President. Finally, on January 1st, 2015, David became President of A.O. Reed. His responsibilities include oversight of pre-construction and construction operations as well as managing all departments at A.O. Reed.

David’s construction, design experience, and oversight allows him to be a key component on all projects. David is involved in project management, estimating, and value engineering. Managing pre-construction for large commercial projects made him a key player on numerous high profile technical jobs: Camp Pendleton Hospital, Scripps Cardiovascular Hospital, Sharp Hospital, Salk Institute, Disney Cars Land, Pacific Beacon High Rise, SAFC CGMP, and more.

David’s experience and understanding in the design process, construction, LEED certification, and Lean Construction has contributed to the continued success and growth of A.O. Reed.

David holds California State Contractors License A, B, C4, C20, C36, C43, C60 and HAZ.
