Dr. Bronner’s All-in-One Soap Factory

Located in Vista, Dr. Bronner’s All-in-One Magic Soaps has a factory producing various products for the general public. These include soaps, toothpaste, chocolate, and more. Dr. Bronner’s focuses on providing high-quality products with a sustainable focus. They have been producing soaps since 1858.

The company is growing, and so is its production! The factory has expanded and upgraded its systems and equipment to meet its increased production lines. A part of its expansion is adding a soap reactor tank system. Our team uses our process piping capabilities to fabricate stainless steel piping that carries proprietary oil blends to create liquid and bar soaps. Our team produces orbital welds to the stainless steel piping. We have also installed a new chiller, boilers, and piping to several large tanks. A.O. Reed has also repaired the existing production lines.

The factory replaced its air handlers on the rooftop to meet the increased demand. To disperse the weight on the roof, A.O. Reed fabricated custom galvanized steel racks. We fabricated this at our sheet metal shop and produced 10 frames, each 40 ft x 8 ft. These were fabricated and delivered onsite the next day. The frames were craned up to the rooftop and installed. Then, we craned and installed 20 air handling units in one day. This process entailed a smooth installation due to preplanning and the efficiency of the racks.

We are currently assisting in the start-up of the reactor tanks and programming the controls. A.O. Reed is proud to have worked onsite since 2022. This expansion project will help to meet the factory's increasing production rates. It is unusual to find a business that surpasses A.O. Reed’s longevity.
